What this privacy policy covers

The Loom Standard is an independent reference site published at virtu.rocks, and this privacy policy sets out what happens to information about the people who read it. You can open every page on the site without giving us an account, a name or an email address.

What we collect when you simply read the site

Reading a page costs us one technical request from your browser and nothing else. There is no sign-up, no newsletter, no comment thread and no checkout anywhere on the site.

What arrives when you email us

Mail to contact@virtu.rocks lands in the editors’ inbox, and we keep what you wrote — the address it came from, your name if you sign the message, and the message itself — so that we can answer. Fabric-label corrections, questions about mills and notes about certification paperwork all arrive this way, and our reply goes back to the same address.

Server logs and cookies

Every page request writes a log line on the hosting server with the page asked for, the time, and the IP address the request came from. We read those lines to keep the site available and to notice traffic spikes, and we do not use them to work out which reader sent which request.

The pages work without cookies that follow you from one site to another. We run no advertising networks, no social media widgets and no cross-site trackers.

Articles about a label, a certification or a mill often point to the issuing body’s own pages, and those links lead off virtu.rocks. Once you follow one, the privacy policy that applies is the one that site publishes, not this one.

Do we sell or share reader information?

No. We do not sell, rent, trade or licence an email address or anything else sent to us, and reader details stay out of advertisers’ hands. We also do not pass addresses to mills or brands.

How long we keep it

Emails stay in the inbox as long as it takes to answer a question, and afterwards for a short stretch so a follow-up still finds the original thread. There is no reader database to prune, because the site has no accounts to hold one.

Asking us about your data

Write to contact@virtu.rocks to ask what we hold about you, to request a copy, to correct it or to have it deleted. The Loom Standard Editors read each request and answer from the same inbox it came to.

Children

The site is written for adults buying clothes for themselves. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
